Reminder: Saturday Test Prep Afterschool Programs are Cancelled Tomorrow

Greeting PS 101 Families:

Please be advised that tomorrow’s Saturday Test Prep Afterschool Programs on Saturday, April 27th will be cancelled in observance of the Spring Break Recess. We will resume our Saturday Test Prep programs after the break on May 4th.

Upcoming Family Workshop in May: Special Mother’s Day Surprise/DIY Gift Event

Greetings PS 101 Families:

We will be hosting an upcoming family workshop on May 4th for parents and students to express our gratitude and appreciation for the extraordinary women who nurture and inspire us every day.

Topic: Special Mother’s Day Surprise/DIY Gift Event

Date: Saturday, May 4th, 2024

Time: 10:30am – 12:00pm

Location: PS101

The registration link for this event will open tomorrow, 4/22/2024 at 5:30pm.

Due to limited seating capacity, seats will be limited to 25 students. Each student must be accompanied by one parent/guardian during the workshop. Seats are first come first serve!

NYC DOE Schools Will Be Closed on 4/22 – 4/30 in Observance of Passover and Spring Recess

Greetings PS 101 Families:

As per the New York City Department of Education school calendar, there is No School for students and staff beginning on Monday, April 22nd through Tuesday, April 30th for Passover and Spring Recess. Happy holiday to our families celebrating in the 101 community. We look forward to returning to school with our students on Wednesday, May 1st.

Enjoy the time off with family and friends.

Last Call to Donate Your Used Crayons for The Crayon Initiative by April 19

Dear PS 101 Parents and Guardians:

The last day to donate your used crayons for the Crayon Initiative is Friday, April 19th!

Let’s gather our crayons and donate them! All around PS 101, students and teachers will be collecting used crayons that are ready to be discarded. Please help support our efforts by sending your kids in with any used crayons you may have around the house!

Drop-off boxes will be located in the main entrance for your child to deposit the cryaons.

With the help of parents like you across the country, the Crayon Initiative program can continue to keep tons of plastic out of landfills each year and support children in hospitals to draw and help bring a colorful smile!

PS 101 Afterschool Programs – End Dates

Greetings PS 101 Families:

Please be advised that several of our afterschool programs are coming to an end, and we are listing their end dates below for your reference. 

  • Monday through Friday Morning Programs – Last day is Friday, May 3rd. 
  • Monday through Thursday Afterschool Programs – Last day is Wednesday, May 8th. (Grades 2-5 Test Prep/Homework Help, ENL Test Prep, ENL Newcomers and Mandarin)

If your child attends any of the programs mentioned above, kindly take note of the program’s last day and ensure you make arrangements to pick up your child at their regular dismissal time and exit door, beginning Thursday, May 9th.

  • Saturday Academy Programs (Grades 3-5 Test Prep and Mandarin) – Last Day is Saturday, May 18th.
